"The Crown" s second season dropped on the streaming service on December 8.

Showrunner Morgan spoke about his decision to recast the roles a year ago, explaining to Screen Daily: "I feel that when we reach 1963-64 we've gone as far as we can go with Claire Foy without having to do silly things in terms of make-up to make her look older..."

Helena Bonham Carter is set to play Princess Margaret in the Netflix royal drama, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "Someone has to bring their own fatigue to it", Morgan told Variety prior to the series' premiere in 2016.

While Carter's reported casting has certainly excited fans, it looks like we'll still have to wait a little while longer to find out if she has indeed landed the royal role. Carter joins Olivia Colman, who will replace Foy, as the first new officially announced castmembers.
