John Terry's All-Time Premier League XI Includes Eight Man United Players

20 December 2017

John Terry named eight Manchester United players in his all-time Premier League XI on Monday night.

The 37-year-old was offered a one-year contract by Championship side Aston Villa after bringing an end to his 19-year spell with Chelsea at the end of last season.

Christensen, 21, was recalled from loan at the start of this season and is now established at the heart of the defence.

Terry said: "I'm going to say Lamps, aren't I?"

'But I think (Christensen) has the right characteristics to play for this club for many years, to become an important player for this team, for this club.

"We must be happy because, I think, Chelsea have found a player who can have the same career as some of the best defenders here".

Terry added it was indeed more tasking than Mourinho's training sessions.

Palace have 17 points from 18 games, which is a remarkable turnaround considering they had none, and no goals, after seven. Christian Benteke scored his first goal since May to help Palace to their first away victory of the season on Saturday.

"He 100 per cent changed the way I thought about football. That's what you have to do at these top clubs".

Conte has insisted that he will keep playing his young players in the Carabao Cup with youngsters Kenedy, Kwame Ampadu, Dujon Sterling and Callum Hudson-Odoi all being in Conte's squad for the game - even though it is the club's first chance of silverware this season. "I would leave that pitch in a coffin for him and every player felt the same".

Conte said: "I will continue in this way". We want to go to the semi-final and that's what I want to think about, not about other things'.

And Terry, Blues captain for both seasons, believes the team constructed at Stamford Bridge during the Portuguese's first stint in west London would have beaten Guardiola's runaway leaders. He has played big games with great calmness, great focus and concentration.

The former England captain revealed he held talks with Clement over the summer and was tempted by a move to the Swans, despite his insistence he could never play for one of Chelsea's Premier League rivals.

Steven Gerrard and Paul Scholes combine in central midfield, although Terry was then asked to pick between those two and former Chelsea team-mate Frank Lampard for who was the best.

'So it will be tough for us but mentally we need to prepare again and try to win the game'.
