Doug Pederson must be Eagles MVP with Wentz done for season

13 December 2017

Coach Doug Pederson told reporters that quarterback Carson Wentz did indeed tear his ACL in the win over the Rams, a tremendous blow to the Eagles' Super Bowl chances.

The Philadelphia Eagles lost Carson Wentz to a season-ending knee injury and could be in need of quarterback depth. Wentz was later escorted off the field due to a knee injury at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on December 10, 2017 in Los Angeles, California. Foles was able to close out the victory on Sunday in Los Angeles but looked nowhere near as capable of Wentz of putting the team on his back through the playoffs. I mean, this is, this has been a resilient football team all season long.

It would come as no surprise if the stadium were filled with Eagles fans given the proximity of the two teams, as well as the respective records this season.

"Obviously, it's been a rough day for me, personally, I'm not going to lie".

"It sure can, heck yeah", Pederson said.

Tom Savage Continued To Play After Distressing Hit
However, Yates would later enter the game as Savage went to the locker room to be further evaluated for a concussion. Predictably, the Texans were taking a lot of heat on social media for allowing Savage back in the game.

Despite catching 428 passes for 6,464 yards to go along with 73 touchdowns during his four-year career in college with the Eagles, many wondered if Kupp would have what it takes to carry that success over to the National Football League since he didn't necessarily play for a big name school.

"If there's ever an opportunity for me to rally the troops as the football coach, now might be the time", Pederson said. "I said, 'If our team is good enough to do this, which I think we are, he'll do his part.' So I just tried to show confidence in Jeff, and I had confidence in him".

"We still have something special", Wentz said. He also has some of the escape-artist ability that has made Wentz so successful for Philadelphia this season - a skill in stark contrast to Foles' limited mobility. "To the fans out there, you can't lose faith".

"I'm absolutely ready to go - need be", Foles said after the win over the Rams. They don't forget. They're very appreciative, and I appreciate that and how they think that", laughing now, "even at 47 I can come back and do it.
