Sabrina the Teenage Witch Series Coming to Netflix

02 December 2017

The streaming service has given the series a two-season, 20-episode order, with the first ten episodes set to be filmed from February to June and the second from June to October. "Riverdale" is now outperforming its first season to the tune of 50 percent in the key ratings measures.

Netflix keeps making more inroads into the world of comics, with word coming that the streaming service has picked up Riverdale spin-off series Sabrina - a supernatural drama that originally had been planned for The CW.

But now that Netflix has snapped up what The CW began with Sabrina, there'll be a waiting game until fans find out how much crossover, if any, Netflix has in store.

Netflix has ordered a new television series based on the Archie Comics graphic novel The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

Carberry said there were no signs of damage at the base, and no change in operations was expected. A 4.4 magnitude natural disaster is considered minor and usually causes minimal damage, if any.

Are you as excited as we are for a darker version of everyone's favorite teenage witch? It comes from the same team behind "Riverdale": creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, producer Greg Berlanti and director Lee Toland Krieger. Like Riverdale, this show's going to err on the side of spooky. The show, which tells the dark origin story of Sabrina in Riverdale's neighboring town of Greendale, follows Sabrina as she tries to balance being half-witch and half-mortal while fighting against the evil forces threatening her, her family, and the world.

The show will be titled "The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina", no doubt a decision that was made to really hammer home the idea that this ain't your mommy's Sabrina, but rather, an extension of the same weird universe that features Archie having statutory affairs with his teachers in between classes.

The show was initially put into development at The CW in September. Melissa Joan Hart previously played the character in the live-action, multi-cam series "Sabrina the Teenage Witch", which aired for seven seasons. Expect Netflix to formally announce the release date sometime after production wraps on the first season. As we've seen, Netflix is also willing to spend plenty of money on shows - which could mean a noticeable bump up in quality for the show.
