Despite nod, No UK release for Padmavati

After three states calling for a ban on Deepika Padukone-starrer 'Padmavati', Maharashtra Tourism Minister has demanded a ban on the screening of the controversy-ridden film in the state.

Such reactions have disturbed members of the film fraternity. Historians are divided on whether Padmavati actually existed.

Amid rumours that there was a romantic dream sequence between Rani Padmavati and Alauddin Khilji's characters, many Rajput groups and others have been protesting against the movie, alleging that it distorts history.
