That question, of course, was in response to the president demanding credit for "freeing" three UCLA players.
Freshman LiAngelo Ball was detained along with Jalen Hill and Cody Riley almost two weeks ago and returned last week after Trump said he had a long conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping about the incident.
"What was he over there for?"
Trump's remarks on Sunday provoked strong reactions on Twitter, including from one Democratic lawmaker who accused the president of personal pettiness. Like I told him, 'They try to make a big deal out of nothing sometimes.' I'm from L.A. "Everybody wants to make it seem like he helped me out", Ball told ESPN.
All three players, LiAngelo Ball, Cody Riley and Jalen Hill, thanked Trump at a press conference in the US, but Ball's father Lavar, who is famous for being braggadocios, refused to give the president any credit.
David Cassidy, 'Partridge Family' superstar, in critical condition
Actor David Cassidy is now hospitalized in Florida in critical condition with organ failure, his rep confirmed to ABC News. We're told David was rushed to a Florida hospital 3 days ago. and his condition has been worsening since his admission.
While there, he and two of his teammates, Cody Riley and Jalen Hill, stole some sunglasses from a Louis Vuitton store, among other items from other stores.
On Wednesday, Trump issued a call for gratitude from the players.
"I would like to thank President Trump and the United States government for the help they provided as well", said Ball. The players were released, and returned the United States last week. "I'm happy with how things were handled". It sure looks like race baiting to a lot of people. I've seen a lot worse things happen than a guy taking some glasses.
President Donald Trump continued his Twitter roasting of UCLA basketball dad and Big Baller Brand mogul LaVar Ball on Sunday evening, calling him "very ungrateful" for not thanking him for getting his son out of trouble.
All three players have been suspended from the UCLA basketball team indefinitely. For better or worse, it's extremely clear that the president loves to watch cable nearly as much as he loves Twitter so he'll no doubt pick up LaVar's response.
