Reactions to Detroit Lions vs. Cleveland Browns game

Others felt that the play from the four yard line at the end of the first half was what cost the Browns the game.

The Cleveland Browns blew a golden opportunity for points just before halftime in Sunday's 38-24 loss in Detroit.

Kenny Britt doubled his touchdown total for the season with a nice catch-and-run on a 19-yard pass.

Lions defensive back Nevin Lawson stripped the Browns ball carrier, broke a tackle and took it all the way back for a touchdown, making it 17-10 Lions in the second quarter.

This is a tough break for both Cleveland and its embattled rookie quarterback. He returned with 4:28 remaining.

"I came here to win, and we're 0-9".

The game was tied 24-24 entering the fourth quarter. The second quarter belonged to the Lions. He beat the one-on-one coverage of Derrick Kindred on the 29-yard pass play with 10:46 remaining.

Quandre Diggs knocked Kizer out of the game after tight end David Njoku let him come through unblocked, and Cleveland's offense completely stalled.

The Browns made mistakes, including at the end of the first half when they botched the most basic elements in clock management. It went nowhere, and the Lions wisely made sure the Browns could not get up to spike the ball for a field goal try. Linebacker Jamie Collins hurt his knee in the first quarter. Running back Ameer Abdullah rushed for 52 yards and a score on just 11 carries. Lawson scooped up the ball and raced down the sideline with 3:55 left in the half. Defensive end Ziggy Ansah is doubtful because of a back injury.

Decker has been out all season because of a shoulder injury. Decker tore his right labrum in June.

Myles Garrett wasn't surprised to see the Detroit Lions rally from an early 10-point deficit Sunday. They were allowing 25 a game before facing the Lions and had held the Steelers, a top-10 offensive team, to 21 in the season opener. DT Larry Ogunjobi (groin) and QB Kevin Hogan were among the Browns' inactives.
