Several Killed as Gunman Opens Fire in Texas Church

A GUNMAN has reportedly gone on a shooting spree at a church in Texas.

Sutherland Springs is an unincorporated community located on the old Spanish land grant of Manuel Tarin in northern Wilson County.

The shooting took place on Sunday at the First Baptist Church in Wilson County during the morning service, local television station KSAT12 reported.

According to the Associated Press, there have been multiple casualties, however police have "taken down" the shooter.

US President Donald Trump, who is in Japan on a 12-day tour of Asia, tweeted his thoughts and prayers to the people of Sutherland Springs.

Abbot is en route to Sutherland Springs to speak with law enforcement and the victims.
