Xiaomi has finally launched the Mi Mix 2 in India, its second-generation bezel-less phone and its first bezel-less phone in the country. It does not feature an earpiece but the display is embedded with a speaker. The flagship is wrapped in a metal unibody. There are no Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 launch offers as such, beyond a zero percent EMI offer.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 features the bezel-less display, which is the highlight of the smartphone.
The phone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with a clock speed of 2.45Ghz. It sports a 5.99-inch full-HD+ (1080x2160 pixels) LCD dispay, and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC that's coupled with 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM. Today Samsung, LG, Vivo and even Micromax offer handsets with nearly bezel-less designs.
The ceramic body is 2X times harder than the glass used on most phones. Just like the other flagship Xiaomi smartphones, there is no MicroSD card slot on Mi MIX 2 for storage expansion. The company says the display has a pixel density of 403ppi, and is complete with DCI-P3 colour gamut support. Xiaomi, in the past, has launched a smartphone over Rs 20k.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 runs on Android 7.1 flavored with the MIUI 9. You have to rotate the phone upside down for clicking selfied from a normal angle, and Xiaomi has made sure that the camera UI rotates 180 degrees so that it adjusts. The device will definitely get the Android Oreo 8.0 update soon.
He added that with Mi Mix 2, Xiaomi has ensured that it delivers on its philosophy of making the best technology available at affordable prices.

The phone also comes with highest screen to body ratio in any smartphone till date. Connectivity features include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11ac dual-band (2×2 MU-MIMO ), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, NFC. The device has all the requisite sensors on board. But yeah, it skips a few classic Xiaomi features such as the IR Blaster, FM, and the headphone jack. To back all of this, there is a li-ion battery with a capacity of 3400mAh battery. There was no mention of any other variants at the launch event. The device will be available exclusively on Flipkart from October 17th. The smartphone will be available to buy from the first week of November.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 comes with a 5.99-inch FullHD+ (2160 × 1080 pixels) Bezel-less display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and contrast ratio of 1500:1.
In addition to the Mi Mix 2, the Chinese company also introduce the Mi noise cancelling earphones on Tuesday.
The new Mi Mix is also more compact, 11.9% smaller than the original Mi MIX.
However, the real competition of the device will be with the current king of the affordable premium market - OnePlus 5, priced at Rs 32,999 for the 64 GB version and 37,999 for the 128 GB version.
