Giants' Odell Beckham Jr. to have season-ending surgery on fractured ankle

11 October 2017

Beckham is slated to have surgery this week on the ankle, and for a player who has been dealing with contract issues, this could not have come at a worse time for him.

The star Giants wide receiver posted a photo to Instagram on Tuesday morning from his hospital bed after having surgery to fix a fracture in his left ankle Monday night at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan.

He is the third Giants receiver with a foot or leg injury to be lost for the season in Sunday's loss to the Chargers. The team announced that Marshall had that surgery on Tuesday. It didn't explain the schedule change.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Three New York Giants wide receivers - All-pro Odell Beckham Jr. veteran Brandon Marshall and return specialist Dwayne Harris - will undergo season-ending surgeries today, decimating the position for the 0-5 Giants.

Marshall uploaded a picture to Instagram with the accompanying caption: "Tomorrow I'll have surgery ending year 12". The team signed Tavarres King and promoted Travis Rudolph from its practice squad to help fill the gap. Giants head coach Ben McAdoo has also confirmed that Beckham's season is over.

'Injured' Mohammad Amir ruled out of Sri Lanka ODIs
Sarfraz said Hasan Ali, the fast bowler, had suffered a side strain in the first Test, and would be replaced by Wahab Riaz . Dilruwan Perera and Rangana Herath picked up three wickets apiece as Sri Lanka consolidated their position of strength.

Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr is expected to play Sunday against the Chargers after missing their loss to the Baltimore Ravens with a back injury. The Giants said Shepard is day-today, but it's extremely unlikely he will be ready to play in Denver against the Broncos on Sunday night. The Giants also re-signed receiver Darius Powe to their practice squad.

After that, the No. 1 wideout is Roger Lewis, who was the only available wide receiver during the game on Sunday.

With Beckham gone for the rest of the year, the Giants' murky offense becomes even more problematic.

"You hate to see it like this, but it's a part of the game", McAdoo said.
