Top 10 most 'employable' universities in 2018

U.S. News & World Report examined 187 colleges and universities overall in its Best Regional Universities North category, including 42 that are listed alphabetically in the second tier. The university also earned a 70th place tie in the "Best Colleges for Veterans" category, as well as an 89th ranking in "Best Value Schools".

U.S. News & World Report ranked almost 1,400 institutions from data mostly provided by the schools themselves.

The College of Engineering is ranked 34th among public universities with doctoral programs, up from 41st a year ago.

UM was followed by Michigan State University at No. 81, Michigan Technological University at No. 124, Central Michigan University and Western Michigan University tied at No. 207, and Wayne State University at No. 223.

No other Texas universities broke the top 50 of the magazine's influential rankings.

The university has listed 1,000 universities in its Ranking 2018 like in the previous years and Tezpur University is placed in the 601-800 range.

Factors for the rankings include graduation and retention rates, surveys of college officials and high school counselors, faculty funding, and selectivity in admissions.

According to US News and World Report, its ranking system rests on two pillars, using quantitative and qualitative statistical measures that education experts have proposed as reliable indicators of academic quality. The United States is home to five of the world's top 10 universities for student employability - and all five hail from either California or Boston, Massachusetts.

The UI is now ranked 78th in the "Best National Universities" category, which contains 300 USA public, private, and for-profit institutions. Last year, UW-Madison ranked 10th among publics and 44th overall in a six-way tie. During the 2016-17 school year, Cornell held a rank of 90. "Our greatest reward, however, comes from the success of our graduates, as well as the advocacy of our alumni, students and their parents". For the fourth year in a row, the College of Engineering ranks 14th overall, and for the fifth year in a row, it ranks seventh among public doctoral institutions.
