Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow walks away from Star Wars film

Ejecting directors from its movie galaxy is starting to become a regular occurrence for Lucasfilm, which said on Tuesday that Colin Trevorrow would no longer direct the ninth chapter in the Star Wars saga.

"Colin has been a wonderful collaborator throughout the development process", the Lucasfilm statement read. The topic comes at an interesting time since Colin Trevorrow was just let go from Star Wars 9 months after Phil Lord and Chris Miller were let go from the Han Solo movie.

Director Colin Trevorrow at the press conference for the film Jurassic World in Los Angeles on June 6, 2015. He's been working on the film since then, looking at a production start in January 2018. Could the man who helmed that film, Rian Johnson, direct Star Wars: Episode IX?

The shadowy face behind the rise of the villainous First Order just got a little bit clearer, thanks to a new image from Topps' Star Wars: Card Trader.

Level 1 evacuation notices are in place for Bonneville Dam, Warrendale and Dodson, Multnomah County sheriff's spokesman Lt. It is believed that he along with a few others shot fireworks off near Eagle Creek Trail, sparking the fire on Saturday.

Taken from the Topps Star Wars Trader card series (via Comicbook), this new image of Supreme Leader Snoke doesn't feature Snoke as one of the side characters of The Last Jedi but instead as one of the film's main characters. Most damningly, he made 2016's The Book of Henry, which was apparently worse than Fantastic Four and made 98% of Star Wars Twitter think THIS IS THE GUY WHO'S HANDLING THE DEATH OF PRINCESS LEIA?

Jack Thorne, who wrote the script for "Wonder", the upcoming Julia Roberts-Jacob Tremblay film, was brought in to work on the new Star Wars script, The Hollywood Reporter noted.

Star Wars and film fans online responded to Trevorrow's departure with snarky jokes and celebration. That likely will continue with The Last Jedi and the untitled Han Solo film. Trevorrow had most recently directed the derided drama The Book of Henry and some anxious about how he would handle the gargantuan task of directing a Star Wars film - even with the box office cred he scored with Jurassic World, which made over $1.7 billion USA worldwide.

It's near impossible to know just where Luke will end up by the time that The Last Jedi ends at this point, with Mark Hamill previously saying that the film's version of Luke Skywalker found a way to seemingly defy all of his expectations for the character going into it. Women have influenced the production of Star Wars for the better since the original trilogy.
