Marshawn Lynch Tells Del Rio He's Always Sat During National Anthem

14 August 2017

On Saturday night, prior to the Raiders preseason tilt against the Arizona Cardinals, Marshawn Lynch sat on the bench during the playing of the national anthem.

What do you think about Lynch's sitting during the national anthem?

Last year, during a televised interview on Conan O'Brien's late night talk show, Lynch lent his support to fellow sportsman Colin Kaepernick who knelt while the US national anthem was played to protest police brutality and institutional racism in general.

People on social media, on the other hand, had plenty to say both for and against the move.

"Talked to Marshawn. Wanted to make sure we're on the same page", Del Rio said.

Long-haul trucks do not face cross traffic when they travel on limited-access highways, and they largely operate at steady speeds. From that it was obvious to us that the technology would be applied to the upcoming Tesla semi truck.

Lynch was not among the players who kneeled during Kaepernick's protest last season, though he did praise the controversial quarterback for taking action during an appearance on "Conan" in September. But I'm going to respect you as a man, you do your thing.

Lynch hasn't spoken with media in Napa during training camp yet, and given that he hasn't stood for the anthem in over a decade it's unlikely he will do so for this matter.

In April, Lynch, along with former teammates Chris Avril and Michael Bennet, traveled to Haiti to help build schools and homes capable of enduring natural disasters, according to Seahawks Wire.

The star running back didn't play a single down on Saturday and the Raiders lost to the Cardinals 20-10, but Lynch easily generated the most attention to the exhibition game.

But that isn't something that should come as a surprise to fans given that Lynch hasn't stood for the anthem in 11 years, according to NBC Sports Bay Area's Fallon Smith. "I said, 'So you understand how I feel, I very strongly believe in standing for the national anthem. You do your thing and we'll do ours", Del Rio said he told, Lynch.
