Trump Promises "Fire And Fury" For North Korea

09 August 2017

Earlier, Mr. Trump touted the US success leading a unanimous United Nations Security Council vote to impose tough new sanctions on North Korea over its nuclear and missile programs. North Korea was the main concern cited in the "white paper" approved by Japan's Cabinet on Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2017, less than two weeks after the North test-fired its second ICBM. "Neither shall we flinch even an inch from the road to bolstering up the nuclear forces chosen by ourselves unless the hostile policy and nuclear threat of the USA against the [Democratic People's Republic of Korea] are fundamentally eliminated".

US President Donald Trump has yet again called for tough and decisive action over the "dangers posed by North Korea", while praising the solidarity over the crisis.

"He has been very threatening - beyond a normal statement", Mr. Trump said of North Korea's Kim Jong-un. It's the latest indication of North Korea's growing nuclear capabilities. "Over one billion dollars in cost to N.K".

Kazianis said it still is not clear whether North Korea has developed heat shield technology required to allow a missile to leave and re-enter the atmosphere. It was a strong day for the United Nations. At other times President Trump seemed to think that China could be easily induced to pressure North Korea to abandon its nuclear ambitions.

It remains to be seen, however, whether the sanctions program can be meaningfully implemented, and whether it will have the intended effect.

Iranian drone buzzes USA fighter jet in Persian Gulf
In recent months, US jets operating in Syria have shot down armed Iranian drones that moved too close to American ground troops. The Persian Gulf is often the site of run-ins between US and Iranian aircraft and ships.

"When the conditions are right then we can sit and have a dialogue around the future of North Korea so they feel secure and prosper economically", Tillerson told reporters at a regional security meeting in Manila.

"The nation's state-run news agency responded that "(North Korea) will make the USA pay dearly for all the heinous crimes it commits against the state and people of this country".

The consequences of a USA strike would potentially be catastrophic for South Koreans, Japanese and United States military personnel within range of North Korean retaliatory strikes.

"North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States", said Trump, who is on vacation this week and spoke from his New Jersey golf course.
