Miami Dolphins Reportedly Considered Tim Tebow Before Signing Jay Cutler

08 August 2017

His introductory news conference was Monday, after signing a $10 million deal to be injured Ryan Tannehill's replacement under Dolphins coach Adam Gase, Cutler's former offensive coordinator.

The Dolphins signed Jay Cutler, cruelly denying us the chance to hear his surly demeanor echo from the broadcast booth while he did color commentary for each week's second- or third-best games.

Dolphins offensive lineman Jermon Bushrod, who played with Cutler in Chicago, said he spoke with him over the weekend.

"I'm pretty sure he's already got it", Gase said, "so he's good". For the Dolphins it's a flawless fit because they get a starting-caliber National Football League quarterback with significant arm talent in August. Oh, and Tuesday's first expected appearance on the Dolphins' practice field for Cutler just happens to be the fifth birthday of his oldest child, Camden Jack.

- On his adjustment to joining the Dolphins: "I got a lot of things I got to process".

Five hundred action plays are a fairly small sample - a little less than a full season's worth - but then again, Moore doesn't have much of a sample size in his career.

North Korea top of agenda at ASEAN meeting
First, to formulate a 2030 Vision for China-ASEAN Strategic Partnership as a blueprint to guide future relations. Actually, the 10 Asean countries don't have a consensus yet on some of the issues.

That includes Moore. He said he still considers himself a contender for the starting job after a drama-free conversation with Gase about the need to sign Cutler.

Gase's commitment to Cutler isn't the question, though.

Kaepernick was the only player on the Dolphins' list that had no connection to Gase. Although he was talking about the general structure of NFL contracts, in contrast to fully guaranteed NBA and MLB contracts, I can't help but think of how the Redskins have mismanaged the contract negotiations.

The Chiefs are a more talented team overall than the Dolphins, but the two playoff hopefuls will square off officially on Christmas Eve in the second to last regular season game for each-another home game for Kansas City. "I'm in between those situations at this point in my life".

Here's to hoping Cutler doesn't have to get too into shape and that he finds that dinner room.
