Januzaj leaves Manchester United for Real Sociedad

13 July 2017

Adnan Januzaj has completed a move from Manchester United to Real Sociedad for a reported fee of €11 million.

The Belgian winger spent last season on loan at Sunderland and was allowed to leave Old Trafford by Jose Mourinho this summer.

After loan spells at Borussia Dortmund and Sunderland under two different United managers in Louis van Gaal and Mourinho, Januzaj will now ply his trade in La Liga on a permanent basis with a fresh start at Real Sociedad.

And the Belgium worldwide took to Instagram to post a message to United's supporters after being unveiled as a Sociedad player, choosing to only pay tribute to a section of the coaches at Old Trafford.

Januzaj broke into United's first team under David Moyes and was one of the few bright points in a dismal 2013-14 season.

"Otherwise, sometimes unfortunately, you can see players who play 10 or 15 games at the top level and everyone tells them they're so great and they believe it and think they're already in the top three in the world".

Manchester United have released an official statement regarding the departure of young talent Adnan Januzaj.

Januzaj joins a Sociedad side that finished sixth in the Spanish table last season to secure qualification for the Europa League.

Next season will be a crucial one for Manchester United and Mourinho is aware of the fact that he can not afford to take the risk of letting Januzaj take his own time in getting back to form and adjusting his attitude.
